SMT Primary Section

At SMT’s Saraswati English Medium School,

We propose a new model of education which invites the collaboration of students, teachers, the school management, parents and the society at large.

We visualise our school to be a place where students come in high excitement, bubbling with enthusiasm and full of self-directed knowledge.

We envision our students as perpetual knowledge seekers, with high self-esteem, who are ready to face any challenges that may come their way.

We are here to encourage divergent thinking.

Divergent thinking is an essential capacity for creativity----the process of having original ideas that have value. It is the ability to see multiple answers to a question as well as multiple ways to interpret problems. It is to think laterally and not just in linear or convergent ways. We teach them how to believe in themselves, draw out their innate talents and facilitate the same.

Our large and airy classrooms are designed to encourage the flowering of the student’s imagination and heighten their sense of exploration and scientific temper.
We hope to be the new model school of the 21st century, wherein the students are full of enthusiasm for learning and the teachers are the facilitators, who are constantly engaged in quenching the students’ thirst for knowledge, rather than just preparing them for passing examinations!

We do not put emphasis on Education that is mere knowledge transfer and remake the students as a blueprint of their teacher.
Students must have the ability to transform the knowledge, so the final goal of education at SMT is to put out generations who can rise to the challenges of the coming era.

We are ardent believers of Malcolm Forbes maxim,  “Education’s purpose is to replace an empty mind with an open one.”
In keeping with the fast advancing digital age, we, at SMT, ensure and encourage the use of technology in classrooms to enrich the teaching learning experience.

Today's learners now enjoy easier, more efficient access to information; opportunities for extended and mobile learning; the ability to give and receive immediate feedback; and greater motivation to learn and engage.

It is a trend that we wish to inculcate in our students and incorporate in our learning systems.
